Monday Memories

It's only been four months since my Lucy left us but...  I miss her smile.  She was always the first to greet me when I came home.  And, I realize it now more than ever that she ruled the roost.  Sable and Joe have struggled with that hierarchy thing since Lucy's death.  I regret that I didn't get a digital camera till Lucy was almost 7 months old because I don't have many pictures of her puppy days.

Monday Memories

I went to pick up my father in June of 2007 and was surprised that he had a puppy.  He, like I have said in recent months, said no more dogs after his Dalmatian had died.  Joe was dropped off/abandoned.  My Dad found him tied with a string to the handle on his garage door.
So this is how I hauled the little booger back to Texas for a visit.  I doubt if I could get Joe's long legs in a storage container now.

Even then Joe liked my bed.  Actually, I was just trying to keep him from Lucy and Sable at the time.  I remember several sleepless nights during that visit.  They were all crying and howling for one another.  At any rate, Joe proved a lot of company for Dad the next 3 or more years before they would finally come live with me.

Have A Relaxing Weekend!

Maybe you can get your master to vacuum some pet hair.  I'm just sayin'.

Monday Memories

Above, Lucy plays with her new little sister in January of 2004 (notice how gentle Lucy is with her). Sable was born on November 13, 2003 and came to live with us on New Years eve.
By years end, Lucy was just as gentle with her baby sister.
They would eventually learn to share.

One Of The Perk's Of Winter

I'm afraid Sable and Joe have been neglected lately.  I have had this cold-sinus-bronchitis thing now for three weeks.  It was a great holiday.  The only consolation is with the cooler weather they get to ride with me when I run errands.  They love the fresh air and it doesn't seem to matter how cold.
Sable has let Joe take Lucy's spot next to the window.
I don't think she minds because she likes to keep her eye on the road.
