I Remember Lucy;One Year Later

It was a year ago this weekend that my sweet Lucy died of liver cancer.  I remember finding her laying under the dining room table with her eyes open and breathing faintly.  I cried and cried all night till time to take her to the vet.  I didn't think I could cry anymore but still... I keep this sad picture of her in her final hours on my phone for some reason.

 

 

Now my girl is among the clouds.  I miss her "golden" smile, hearing her dainty footsteps across the house, her protecting me and Sable.  I miss the way she would take a treat so lady like from my hands.  I miss my girl Lucy.

Monday Memories

 Back when I was a one dog owner, I took my sweet Lucy on her first trip to Arkansas.  While in my hometown, we went to the park and I tortured Lucy with all the ducks.  As she got older, we would walk around the neighborhood park here and she didn't show the interest in ducks as she did on this visit.

Sable Saw Her Reflection

So that means only 6 more weeks of summer for us here in southeast Texas.   It was a hot and humid weekend with sporadic showers here.  The local weather guessers say that we haven't hit 100 degrees all summer but I don't think it matters.  It can be quite miserable at 95.  So hopefully by Halloween or before, Joe and Sable will be able to go along for rides and to run errands.
