Well sometimes he does. And more often than not, he is terrible. When he looks at you if you didn't know him you'd think he was going to attack at any moment. He has this solemn look about him. He rarely pants even in our hot weather. He should smile more. Lucy could teach him a thing or two about smiling. And as far as being terrible let's just say he has his days. Just in the last week or so he has confiscated a loaf of bread, a pack of hamburger buns, a can of Pringles, and a box of saltine crackers. Needless to say, Lucy, and especially Sable, rather enjoy this aspect of Joe's behavior. I can't imagine keeping Joe if something happens to my father. But he can be affectionate at times. He's just... terrible at times.

If at some point, you have to find a home for Joe - are there any siblings/cousins/distant relatives who would welcome him into their home?
Maybe someone at your Dad's church?
