I've said it before: I never would have thought I would have had three big ass dogs in my home.
But Lucy, my first and a Golden Retriever stole my heart and naturally I felt she needed a companion. So about 6 or 7 months after Lucy's arrival I got Sable my lab mix. Lucy took her and showed her the ropes as if her very own. I can't say they were affectionate towards one another but they were inseparable. They loved to ride and loved the water more. We had so many fun trips to the dog park.
Then in 2012 as my Father needed more physical help he came to live with me and along with him his mutt Joe. My girls did not take likely to Joe. Joe was a people and dog person. He was very social where as my girls showed little interest in other people or dogs. But soon they seem to mesh together as a family. The amount of joy they provided was immeasurable. Sadly, these canine relationships have been the longest that I have enjoyed in my life other than family. So I feel as though I have milked this blog as long as I can sharing my memories of my sweet babies.
I hope as I get closer to retirement to adopt me a couple of dogs again. Then maybe a new chapter for the blog. But till then, I will enjoy my memories and the 1000's of photos of my babies. I appreciate the few who have shared this journey. I am not, nor have I ever been good at networking, so comments and blog buddies have been few. Nevertheless, I've enjoyed this effort.
I hope you have a safe and healthy new year full of joy!
