Begging Is Genetic?

We enjoyed dinner at my brothers Sunday and Sable's brother, Spike, was there.
As well as Piper, another brother and sister team.  They seemed to beg just like Lucy, Sable, and Joe.
Is it a family thing or a canine characteristic? BOL  I suppose some family friends do the right thing and go lay down some where during meals but my Father is constantly slipping treats under the table.

It's Good To Know

I thought I was the only one that had or allowed canine family members hang out at the dinner table but after dinner at my brothers over the weekend I know different. The golden lab is Sable's brother Spike. I can't remember my nieces Lil rodent's name under the table.

What A Beggar

Even my girls will lay on the floor and wait for a crumb or offer. On the other hand, my father's dog, Joe, lays his head on the arm of the chair and doesn't budge till the plates are clean. My father says he wasn't like that at home. It must be the competition that makes him so persistent.

I Tell Them No No No Still...

They sit table side and beg and whine. For the life of me, I don't understand.
Maybe I encourage such behavior? Could I be an "enabler"?

I Will Catch Him

Since my father has been with me I noticed that I have been gaining weight. It must be the three meals a day I'm preparing. Sable also is gaining weight. I'm determined to catch my father slipping Sable treats under the table. I will get evidence sooner or later!

Under Lucy's Guidance

I learned how to beg and to jump up on my master and anyone else that enters our home.
