Finally! A Visit To The Dog Park

With yesterday being the longest day of the year, first day of summer,(really? what has the last 3 weeks of hot ,dry weather been?) we went to Millie Bush Bark Park. We got there just after 7:00 am when they open and there were several already there to beat the summer heat. If the park had been open we could have gone at 5:30 am it was already light out.
Lucy and Sable had a good time as always swapping the ball back and forth before they come back to shore.

Although, Sable is usually the victorious one.

They enjoy the water so much and at least it is cleaner than the muddy water they got in Saturday night chasing ducks.

Don't they look refreshed? Wish you could have been here to share in the fun. Well, Sable and I do but Lucy is another story.

Now They Are Zonked

After a weekend of fun and frolic and a good bath they are out of it. Sable, unfortunately, will limp around for a day or so after all the running and swimming. But they both just want to sleep it off for now.

Chasing Sunsets And Ducks

I took my girls over to a new subdivision under development last night so they could run wild. It's only 3 miles from our home so it's much closer than any of the dog parks. It had been another very hot day but the evening was quite windy so it kept the sweat and mosquitoes at bay. The bad thing is my girls mustered up enough energy to jump the erosion fences and headed straight for the water
and the ducks. I was not happy since I did not plan on having wet dogs ride home with me. Plus Lucy loves to roll in the dirt after she gets wet.

But how could I stay mad at my pretty Lucy?

Puppy Prosac Anyone?

My girls seem to be pouting a lot lately. They are mad at me it seems. They just don't understand it is too hot for them to go riding with me doing errands. We haven't been to the dog park either. It's too hot to be there mid day so unless we can get there just after sunrise we don't go. It's only mid June. We have a loooooong hot summer ahead of us apparently.

Hey Sable Let Me In:It's HOT Out Here!

Sable likes to stay inside and block the pet door so that Lucy can't get inside on these hot days. My girls are rarely outside as of late and that's because it is so darn hot. We've had high 90's now for over two weeks plus after floods in April it hasn't rained a drop in 6 weeks in these parts. Thank heavens for air conditioning or we'd have to go north.

Torture!

This squirrel loves to get in my bird feeder and torture my girls. They hate squirrel. Or maybe they don't? :)
