Thankfully:My Right Eye Is My Good Eye

Thankfully, my right eye is my best because that is what I use more to watch TV. Since Sable, more often than not, stands just like this watching me watch TV. She creeps me out sometimes.

When Did That Happen?

Used to my golden, Lucy, was the first in and out of the water. She also dominated the window when we were taking a ride. Now, more often than not, Sable, my black lab mix, is in the forefront. She is the first in the water and the first one back with the ball. Heck, she used to wouldn't even attempt to swim. She would just stand at the waters edge watching Lucy. She also is in control of the window when in the truck now. Before she would make no attempt to put her nose out the window. Sometimes she lets Lucy up beside her and sometimes she won't budge. I don't know what brought on this shift in behavior? They are both 5 years old this year. However, Sable does out weigh Lucy by 20 pounds making it somewhat easier to push Lucy around in a tight spot. It's strange watching them change before my eyes. Much like watching one's children change I suppose. All I can do is scratch my head and wonder.

Our Date At Millie Bush Bark Park

I took Lucy and Sable to Millie Bush Bark Park over the weekend. We went early to try and beat the heat. The signs read that the park doesn't open till 7:00 AM but when we arrived a half hour early the parking lot was open. Yeah. There were a couple of dogs already there. It's nice to enjoy the sunrise. I don't see it often in summer. I don't know what is my favorite sunrise or sunset? I guess it depends on one's mood or who your with.
At any rate, as soon as the sun was visible so was the humidity. Fortunately, soon a breeze started up and an occasional cloud made it bearable for both me and the girls. Our friend Miss V came out from the inner loop. She brought her girls, Bella, Beamer, and Butter, three labs. They live in one of those swanky new loft/mid rises. Just because she didn't want the upkeep on a home. Okay. I can understand that. What I can't believe is she took the dogs with her. Amazing! But that's the way love is.

This is Bella and Beamer, the one with the gray whiskers, and Butter is below.

No matter how hard I try to get my dogs to mix with others they, more often than not, seem to be content with each others company. I'll wonder where they are and finally scope them out off by themselves. Oh well, what's a single parent to do?

Oh Sure: She Looks Precious

But as I sat at my desk I heard her chewing something. Yeah, I was too lazy at first to turn around and look. But then when I discovered she was chewing on a black ink cartridge I was one HOT daddy. No I didn't give her a pow pow as I first wanted to do but I was a bit upset. So no privileges of coming down the hall for a while.
