It's National Dog Day

My three babies back in 2012 at Millie Bush Bark Park.  Lucy was still with us and Sable was healthy and Joe and my late Father had just moved in with me.

Poor Sable

Sable always manages to find the coolest spot in the house.  Unfortunately, with her hip and leg issues she has a difficult time getting up unless she is on carpet.  She seems so happy but she must be in some pain.

Enjoy Your Weekend!

Sable can't stand on her hind legs and look out the front window any longer but she is still happy to go for a ride.

I Told You STOP!

Yeah, I know.  It looks as if I slammed on the brakes and my boy Joe was not aware. Not true.  It seems they are always aware when I go for the brake: they brace themselves.

Monday Memories

My sweet Lucy loved Sable as her own. When I brought 6 week old Sable home Lucy was about 9 months old.  It was one of the best decisions that I made as a pet owner for they were inseparable till Lucy's death.  I wish that I had more pictures of them at this time but I had just got my first digital camera and was a bit skeptical.

Healing Process

Sable's sore spot seems to be healing ever so slowly.  I'm sure hampered by her thyroid condition.

Weekend Wishes

Despite it being so hot here in Houston, Sable insists on wearing her opera gloves for the weekend.
Have a good one!

Mondays, Mondays

Yeah they always get me down it seems.  A couple of weeks ago I took Sable to the vet.  I had been feeling a scab and noticed, what I thought, was one of those hot spots that first started appearing when she was diagnosed with her thyroid condition.  In addition to this, Sable is showing a general decline with her hip dysplasia and thyroid.  So...just as we get to the vet it starts to rain like it only can in Houston.  For such a water loving dog Sable does not like getting in the rain.  So I have to carry her in the vet, luckily she is down to 57 pounds from her high of 95.  As soon as I get in the office I fall due to my wet feet. Then in the bright lights the vet shows me this hole in the side of Sable's head.  She ask me if it could be a spider bite?  I'm thinking: you tell me.  It looks more like a gunshot to me.  Now Sable's wound is healing slowly.  But wait, on the return home from the vet the power is out here at home and the garage door will not go up so again, I get to carry Sable in the house. That's about as bad as my Mondays get, thankfully.
Keep my girl Sable in your thoughts as we navigate these final months of her sweet, sweet life.
