Monday Mourning

I was working in the yard  over the weekend and found Lucy's porcupine among the weeds in the bushes.  It brought back a flood of memories.  It was her first toy.  I would tell her that it was her baby.  I miss my Lucy.

Sad Boy

I don't know if Joe is grieving for Lucy or just sad that he is wearing his bark collar again.

Not My Girl!

No that is not Dumbo.  My Sable girl has got in her head that she wants to go trick or treating as Miley Cyrus.  No way! Not my girl!

Company

Sable's brother, Spike, came over for a visit over the weekend.  Sable is not too interested and shows no connection but Joe loves to pester him when he is here.  Spike is a few inches taller than Sable and about 15 pounds lighter.  He's very affectionate/friendly like Sable.

Make a Big Splash This Weekend!

Finally;A Trip To The Park!

I got home early enough yesterday to take my babies to the park before sunset.  It had been awhile since our last visit.  With the temperatures somewhat cooler, it was more pleasant for all concerned.
Sable seemed lost without Lucy.  Maybe it was a competition thing for them?  Lucy always made a quick dash for the water.  Sable seemed hesitant and less enthusiastic.
Of course, I'm great at projecting my feelings on to them.  Sable just didn't seem to have as good a time as on previous visits.
Joe, on the other hand, was still running the park from one end to the other in search of someone to chase him.  Nothing new there.

Thank You

Thanks to all of you that have commented and emailed with such kind words.  Needless to say, it is not the same around here without Lucy.  She was my first dog of my own.  She was such a good guard dog and yet so lady like.  I miss hearing her dainty footsteps throughout the house.
I suppose one saving grace is that I have been so busy at work.  The busiest we have been in some time and our work for the holidays is at it's peak.  If the work in advertising is any indication the economy must be rebounding.  At any rate, my work load has made the loss of Lucy more bearable.  I'm afraid that I have neglected my Dad, Sable, Joe, and my blogs.
