A Couple Of Nosey Parkers

The girls love this temporary fence. As of yet, they haven't made any attempts to get out but they do love waiting for the neighbors or their dogs to come outside.

Outside Looking In

I had to keep my girls tied out front every once in a while after the hurricane since the back fence was down. I can't say enough how much WE love having a pet door but since there are four yards in a row without fences I can't let them roam free. But I have managed to find the plastic contractor fence for now and it appears to detour them from trying to escape. But why would they want to leave me?

Wish I Could Adopt One

A shelter worker gives a shot to a puppy at an animal shelter established to care for abandoned and stray animals following Hurricane Ike in Galveston. All of the animals arriving at the shelter are photographed to help with locating their owners. Most of the island remains without running water, electricity or gas since the hurricane hit in the early morning hours of September 13.

Thankfully:My Right Eye Is My Good Eye

Thankfully, my right eye is my best because that is what I use more to watch TV. Since Sable, more often than not, stands just like this watching me watch TV. She creeps me out sometimes.

Whoops! I Think Chesty Is A Democrat

U.S. President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush laugh with an unidentified Marine who is in charge of the Marine mascot, Chesty the 13th, after attending the Evening Parade at the Marine Barracks in Washington August 29, 2008.

When Did That Happen?

Used to my golden, Lucy, was the first in and out of the water. She also dominated the window when we were taking a ride. Now, more often than not, Sable, my black lab mix, is in the forefront. She is the first in the water and the first one back with the ball. Heck, she used to wouldn't even attempt to swim. She would just stand at the waters edge watching Lucy. She also is in control of the window when in the truck now. Before she would make no attempt to put her nose out the window. Sometimes she lets Lucy up beside her and sometimes she won't budge. I don't know what brought on this shift in behavior? They are both 5 years old this year. However, Sable does out weigh Lucy by 20 pounds making it somewhat easier to push Lucy around in a tight spot. It's strange watching them change before my eyes. Much like watching one's children change I suppose. All I can do is scratch my head and wonder.

Nothing As Fragrant As A Wet Dog
