Living In Canine Country
My girls were well groomed when I picked them up at boarding school. But more importantly, they were oh so happy to see me. They have displayed no hard feelings or resentment at all towards me. I HATED leaving them. It's been a long time since I boarded them. I had bad dreams while away. One was that the strip shopping center where the pet store they were boarded had caught on fire. Then I dreamed that some lazy ass employee had let Sable get away from her while walking. I had a good time but I'm glad to be back home with my girls.
I'm taking my father home to the hills of Arkansas for the week.
Unfortunately, Lucy and Sable will stay behind. I've decided to board them which I just HATE to do. But I didn't have good luck with people helping me here at my home before soooooooooo. My father and the three dogs are just more than I can handle traveling.
The lucky dog will be Joe. He gets to go and enjoy some hopefully cooler weather and no swarms of mosquito's like here. He'll get the run of a very large yard compared to what I have so he should be pleased to be back at his home as well. In addition, no houses up close so the little devil can bark all he wants.
I rarely go into these chain stores but couldn't find a retractable leash for a large dog at my regular stops. So I stopped by PETCO and bought this $45 piece of crap and the guy at the checkout just stands there looking out the window. When my receipt prints out he hands it to me and says "there". What the??????? I bit my tongue and just said "good luck to you".
At any rate, I'm tied of the 3 ft leash my father has for Joe and I'm more tied of running beside him when I take him some where. Actually, he's pretty good on a leash but likes to run about during pit stops while traveling. I just hope I'm pleased with the purchase since I wasn't pleased with the experience.
I've been asked a few times what's happened to Joe. Well, despite what some of you have said, I don't take pictures of my pooches everyday. I am natural partial to my girls but Joe can be an affectionate boy much more so than my Lucy. He still remains much of a terror though.
First, there's Joe the beggar.
